God's Cake

Sometimes we wonder, "What did I do to deserve this?" or "Why did God have to do this to me?" But God didn’t do it to you. Sometimes bad things just happen. And God can take a bad situation, use the experience to mold us, and bring something out of it that will glorify Him. Here is a wonderful explanation that was e-mailed to me.
-
A daughter is telling her Mother how everything is going wrong, she's failing algebra, her boyfriend broke up with her and her best friend is moving away.
-
Meanwhile, her Mother is baking a cake and asks her daughter if she would like a snack, and the daughter says, "Absolutely Mom, I love your cake.
-
"Here, have some cooking oil," her Mother offers.
"Yuck," says her daughter.
"How about a couple raw eggs?"
"Gross, Mom!"
"Would you like some flour then? Or maybe baking soda?"
"Mom, those are all gross!"
-
To which the mother replies: "Yes, all those things seem bad all by themselves. But when they are put together in the right way, they make a wonderfully delicious cake! God works the same way. Many times we wonder why we go through such bad and difficult times. But God knows that when He puts these things all in His order, they always work for good!
We just have to trust Him and, eventually, they will all make something wonderful!
-
God is crazy about you. He sends you flowers every spring and a sunrise every morning. Whenever you want to talk, He'll listen. He can live anywhere in the universe, and He chose your heart.

I hope your day is a "piece of cake!" Cause even sunshine burns if you get to much!

I love you all

  1. How true...and yet unfortunately how hard to remember when we're going through the difficult times.
I hope your day is a "piece of cake!" :)

  2. Hard to remember and think like that when it just keeps getting relentlessly worse and hurting more...right when you think you might be okay and think God's helping out a bit, the piercing heartache returns.

I'll pray for you, and the piercing heartache. Piercing heartache is never "fun" or "enjoyable." And sometimes it might last a really long time...who knows how long? But hang on to the hope that regardless of how good or bad this life is...for believers, there's a better one ahead.
